Review:
When all is said and done this movie is a romantic-comedy, which is the one genre of movies that I don't generally pay any attention too. As a rule they're nothing but fluff, but this movie has got that something extra that can't be denied; Jack Nicholson. It seems as though this role was written for him (aside from Bobby D, I couldn't see anyone else pulling this shit off). And since I mentioned the writing, this movie has got some one-liners to kill. Along with the best actor and actress Oscars, this mofo should have won for best screenplay (if memory serves, Good Will Hunting won that honor).

I gotta give props to Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear too though; they do a bang-up job play the ying to Jack's yang. This movie wouldn't have been half as good as it is without their contributions.

The only criticism I have with this movie would be that Jack's a bit old for Helen. Sure he's one sly sweet-motherfucker, but he's old enough to be her father for Christ's sake.

Special Features :
I guess I didn't but the Awards Edition because there's fuck-all on this disc. Well that's not completely true. There's a great commentary track featuring Jack, Helen, Greg, and James L. Brooks (the director). Although Brooks talks the most, Jack and Greg are right there with their "2-cents" through out the track. Helen's presence on the other hand is almost none-existent. Oh yeah, you also get the standard booklet inside the case, but that's it. May be in a couple of years they'll make a "Strangelove" edition.

Video and Audio:
The picture transfer was nice and clean and the 5.1Dobly did a nice job, even though it wasn't really needed, as this movie is almost all speech.

"Where did they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "sailor wanna hump-hump" bar? Or this getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy some place else, were all stocked up here." - Melvin - Tony Moss
