Synopsis:
Actors from a cheesy 70's science fiction show come to the rescue of some aliens in trouble with an intergalactic bully.

Review:
This movie suffers from the same problem as Mystery Men. Although it had a very promising idea, and a good cast; but when all is said and done it's a shitty movie.

The funny thing about this movie is that to truly appreciate all of the jokes contained within it, you have to be a Star Trek fan. But if you are or were a ST fan, then you would probably have the same problem with this movie that I did. It didn't go far enough in mocking its subject matter. But since this was made by one of Disney's partner studios, I should have expected this movie to suck. Silly me.

I must give props to Alan Rickman though; he did a great job in the Spock-like role. And even though I think he's a putz, I also gotta give props to Tim Allen. He does a pretty good Shatner.

Special Features :
I've sifted through some shitty features in my time, but the stuff on this disc takes the cake.

The production notes were bland to say the least, and the deleted scenes were a complete waste of time. The "On Location in Space" featurette was stale, and the Thermian language audio track, although a novel attempt at putting something new on a disc, was just fucking annoying. The Cast & Film-makers section only severed to point out better movies staring the actors in this movie (except for Tim Allen, for obvious reasons).

As for the "Omega 13" special feature (which you can't access until you've watched the movie), lets just say it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Which leaves us with the trailers (teaser and main), which turn out to be the best thing on this disc.

Video and Audio:
Even though the movie sucked, the transfer was great (especially during the desert scenes). Likewise, the audio (5.1) was spot on, even on the pain-full Thermian language audio track.
