Synopsis:
A shuttle mission to Halley’s Comet discovers an alien spacecraft. After a deadly confrontation, the aliens travel to Earth where their seductive female leader begins her campaign to drain the life-force of the planet.

Review:
Made in 1984, this is an old motherfuckering film. But it’s not that bad. Sure the S F/X are dated, but they were impressive when this movie came out so I won’t be to hard on them (If I bad-mouthed this movie, I’d have to bad-mouth the original Star Wars movies for looking like shit too. Did I just bad-mouth Star Wars? ).

Anyway, the stories not that bad. The Vampire-aliens are pretty cool (for the day). I have to hand it to them for making it to earth, those Aliens Sigourney’s always fighting never did. It must also be mentioned that female Vampire leader walks around for the first 20 mins. without a stitch of clothing on, in my opinion unnecessary nudity never hurts a film (I take that back, I just had a flashback of The Crying Game. But since I brought it up, was that penis shot in the Crying Game really needed? Did we really have to see Jay Davidson’s package? Wouldn’t a shot of his meat and potatoes in a pair of Speedo’s have done the trick? Am I wrong on this? Just a thought.).

Fans of Patrick Stewart can catch a glimpse of the man while he still had hair, but I think he has a more prominent role in that classic Dune. The only thing that really sucked about this movie was the performance of Steve Railsback. This guy sucks!!! Seriously though, this guy couldn’t pass a grade nine drama class. The only other thing I can remember him being in is The Rookie (with Clint Eastwood and Charlie Sheen), and he sucked in that too.

Special Features :
This version contains 15 minutes of footage not shown during the original theatrical release, but I’d be damned if I can figure out what’s original and what’s not. So I gots nothing to say about it.

The theatrical trailer and an 8-page booklet are also included, but they’re nothing special.

Video and Audio:
I couldn’t see any problems with the video transfer and the new Dolby 5.1 soundtrack is a welcome addition.
